The apostle Paul confirms that the outcome of God’s plan of salvation is eternal life:
1 Paul, a servant of God, and an apostle of Jesus Christ, according to the faith of God’s chosen ones, and the knowledge of the truth which is according to godliness, 2 in hope of eternal life, which God, who can’t lie, promised before time began;
Eternal life is referred to in the Psalms:
3 like the dew of Hermon,
that comes down on the hills of Zion;
for there the LORD gives the blessing,
even life forever more.
Daniel also speaks of this prospect for those who are written in God’s book:
1 “At that time Michael will stand up, the great prince who stands for the children of your people; and there will be a time of trouble, such as never was since there was a nation even to that same time. At that time your people will be delivered, everyone who is found written in the book. 2 Many of those who sleep in the dust of the earth will awake, some to everlasting life, and some to shame and everlasting contempt.
We can have eternal life if we believe in Jesus Christ:
14 As Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of Man be lifted up, 15 that whoever believes in him should not perish, but have eternal life. 16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish, but have eternal life.
Paul also confirms that God will give eternal life to those who believe in Jesus Christ:
23 For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
