A selection of verses showing that God has a plan to overcome the problem of death caused by sin.
The apostle Paul makes it clear to the Roman believers that we die because we sin:
12 Therefore as sin entered into the world through one man, and death through sin; so death passed to all men, because all sinned.
The apostle John says that we must acknowledge that we are sinners if we are to be forgiven:
9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 10 If we say that we haven’t sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.
The apostle John tells us that God sent Jesus Christ to overcome the problem of death:
16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish, but have eternal life.
The apostle Paul tells the Romans that we are reconciled to God through the death of His Son, Jesus Christ:
10 For if while we were enemies, we were reconciled to God through the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we will be saved by his life.
The last book of the Bible tells us that eventually death will be no more:
3 I heard a loud voice out of heaven saying, “Behold, God’s dwelling is with people, and he will dwell with them, and they will be his people, and God himself will be with them as their God. 4 He will wipe away every tear from their eyes. Death will be no more; neither will there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain, any more. The first things have passed away.”
