God will show mercy and forgiveness to those who seek Him:
6 Seek the LORD while he may be found.
Call on him while he is near.
7 Let the wicked forsake his way,
and the unrighteous man his thoughts.
Let him return to the LORD, and he will have mercy on him,
to our God, for he will freely pardon.
The Psalmist tells that seeking God involves reading God's message and obeying it:
2 Blessed are those who keep his statutes,
who seek him with their whole heart.
3 Yes, they do nothing wrong.
They walk in his ways.
10 With my whole heart, I have sought you.
Don’t let me wander from your commandments.
11 I have hidden your word in my heart,
that I might not sin against you.
Humility will help in our seeking for God:
32 The humble have seen it, and are glad.
You who seek after God, let your heart live.
Seeking for God involves loving and respecting God and all that He stands for:
4 Let all those who seek you rejoice and be glad in you.
Let those who love your salvation continually say,
“Let God be exalted!”
3 Glory in his holy name.
Let the heart of those who seek the LORD rejoice.
4 Seek the LORD and his strength.
Seek his face forever more.
17 I love those who love me.
Those who seek me diligently will find me.
