Kindness is one of God's characteristics:
1 Praise the LORD, all you nations!
Extol him, all you peoples!
2 For his loving kindness is great towards us.
The LORD’s faithfulness endures forever.
Praise the LORD!
God tells the prophet Isaiah that even if the physical world comes to an end, his kindness towards his people will still be there:
10 For the mountains may depart,
and the hills be removed;
but my loving kindness will not depart from you,
and my covenant of peace will not be removed,”
says the LORD who has mercy on you.
The apostle Paul reminds the Ephesian believers that we can be saved because of God's kindness:
7 that in the ages to come he might show the exceeding riches of his grace in kindness towards us in Christ Jesus;
He encourages the Colossian believers to respond to God's kindness by showing it themselves:
12 Put on therefore, as God’s chosen ones, holy and beloved, a heart of compassion, kindness, lowliness, humility, and perseverance; 13 bearing with one another, and forgiving each other, if any man has a complaint against any; even as Christ forgave you, so you also do.
