A selection of verses showing that the wicked will be judged.
The Psalms and the book of Ecclesiastes tell us that God wil judge the wicked:
20 The LORD preserves all those who love him,
but he will destroy all the wicked.
17 I said in my heart, “God will judge the righteous and the wicked; for there is a time there for every purpose and for every work.”
The prophet Isaiah tells that a descendant of Jesse (v 1) will judge the wicked:
4 but he will judge the poor with righteousness,
and decide with equity for the humble of the earth.
He will strike the earth with the rod of his mouth;
and with the breath of his lips he will kill the wicked.
The apostle Paul tells the believers in Rome that God is against all ungodliness:
18 For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men who suppress the truth in unrighteousness,
He also tells them that God's judgement will fall on those who refuse to repent:
4 Or do you despise the riches of his goodness, forbearance, and patience, not knowing that the goodness of God leads you to repentance? 5 But according to your hardness and unrepentant heart you are treasuring up for yourself wrath in the day of wrath, revelation, and of the righteous judgement of God;
