A selection of verses showing that we can only be saved from eternal death through Jesus.
The apostle Peter told his listeners that we can only be saved through Jesus. After talking about Jesus he said:
12 There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given amongst men, by which we must be saved!”
Jesus himself echoes the same sentiment:
6 Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me.
In his gospel account John says that those who believe in Jesus will have everlasting life:
16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish, but have eternal life.
Jesus said that It is God’s will that anyone who believes in him will be raised at the last day and have everlasting life:
40 This is the will of the one who sent me, that everyone who sees the Son, and believes in him, should have eternal life; and I will raise him up at the last day.”
In his gospel account John writes that the miracles performed by Jesus are proof that he is the Christ and Saviour for those who believe:
30 Therefore Jesus did many other signs in the presence of his disciples, which are not written in this book; 31 but these are written, that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that believing you may have life in his name.
