A selection of verses showing that we need to be in Christ to be part of God’s plan.
The apostle Paul told the first century believers many things about being in Christ.
We become in Christ by being baptised:
3 Or don’t you know that all we who were baptised into Christ Jesus were baptised into his death?
We are released from our natural condemnation to death if we are in Christ and restrain our natural inclinations:
1 There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who don’t walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit.
We are in either Adam or Christ. Only those in Christ have a long-term hope:
22 For as in Adam all die, so also in Christ all will be made alive.
Those in Christ receive the blessing promised to Abraham:
14 that the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through Christ Jesus, that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.
Those in Christ will be raised when Jesus Christ returns:
16 For the Lord himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel and with God’s trumpet. The dead in Christ will rise first,
Those in Christ have a hope of life:
1 Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ through the will of God, according to the promise of the life which is in Christ Jesus,
