A few verses showing what the Bible says about the devil.
When we sin, we are of the devil:
8 He who sins is of the devil, for the devil has been sinning from the beginning. To this end the Son of God was revealed: that he might destroy the works of the devil.
We are able to resist the devil:
11 Put on the whole armour of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.
We can resist the influence of the devil:
8 Be sober and self-controlled. Be watchful. Your adversary, the devil, walks around like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour. 9 Withstand him steadfast in your faith, knowing that your brothers who are in the world are undergoing the same sufferings.
Judas Iscariot is called a devil:
70 Jesus answered them, “Didn’t I choose you, the twelve, and one of you is a devil?”
Women are told not to be slanderers (devils):
11 Their wives in the same way must be reverent, not slanderers, temperate, and faithful in all things.
The devil puts people in prison:
10 Don’t be afraid of the things which you are about to suffer. Behold, the devil is about to throw some of you into prison, that you may be tested; and you will have oppression for ten days. Be faithful to death, and I will give you the crown of life.
Jesus was tempted by the devil:
1 Then Jesus was led up by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted by the devil.
Jesus brought the devil to nothing by dying:
14 Since then the children have shared in flesh and blood, he also himself in the same way partook of the same, that through death he might bring to nothing him who had the power of death, that is, the devil,
