Jesus makes it clear that there is a distinction between flesh and spirit:
Satan simply means an adversary or one who opposes. In most Bible versions where the word satan occurs, sometimes it is left as satan and other times words like adversary are used.
The Hebrew word "satan" means "an adversary or one who resists". There word does not indicate whether the opposition is morally good or bad.
